The Taking Off Beginning English program is a four-skills, standards-based curriculum designed for low-beginning adult ESL students. It utilizes picture dictionary art pages to teach life skills vocabulary in a clear and visual manner. The program's gradual pace helps instill confidence in students as they build a solid foundation in the basics of English. The curriculum includes components such as the Student Book, Workbook, Literacy Workbook, Teacher's Edition, Audiocassettes, Audio CD, Color Transparencies, and more. It is structured to prepare students for the Contemporary English Book 1 and other popular adult ESL series, with activities correlated to CASAS, SCANS, EFF, and other key standards. The program also features listening preparation activities to develop speaking and writing skills in a low-anxiety environment, and Community lessons that introduce critical EL/Civics topics.
